Statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2026
Our commitment
U&P Recruitment Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 does not require a business of our size to publish a statement, but we do so voluntarily because, as a supplier of temporary workers, we take our responsibility seriously.
Our business
We are a recruitment agency and employment business based in Romsey, Hampshire. We recruit permanent and temporary New Homes Sales staff for housebuilders and agents across the UK.
Our supply chain is short. Our main suppliers provide software, payroll, office services and professional advice.
Where the risk lies
We consider the risk of modern slavery in our business to be low, because we place skilled, customer-facing sales professionals rather than manual or low-paid labour. The main area where risk could arise is in supplying temporary workers, so our controls focus there.
What we do to prevent modern slavery
- Right-to-work checks. We check every temporary worker’s identity and right to work in the UK before they start, in person or using approved digital checks.
- Direct payment. We pay temporary workers directly into a bank account in their own name. We never pay workers’ wages to a third party, and we watch for warning signs such as several workers sharing one bank account, address or phone number.
- No fees for work. We never charge candidates a fee for finding them work, and we never hold workers’ identity documents.
- Fair pay and terms. Every temporary worker receives written terms and a Key Information Document before they start, and is paid at least the National Minimum Wage, with holiday pay.
- Trained staff. Our consultants are trained to spot the signs of modern slavery and know how to report concerns.
- Suppliers. We expect our suppliers to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery.
Reporting concerns
If anyone, including our staff, candidates or clients, suspects modern slavery in connection with our business, they should contact The Directors on 023 8027 0002 or at info@uandp.co.uk. We will investigate every concern and report it to the police where appropriate.
Concerns can also be reported in confidence to the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700.
Approval
This statement was approved by The Directors of U&P Recruitment Ltd on 3 October 2026, and will be reviewed every year.
